A Girl Scout troop in Rogersville presented a $150 donation to the Alabama State Trooper Association (ASTA) to purchase trooper teddy bears. The ASTA provides trooper teddy bears to State Troopers so they may be used to comfort children involved in traumatic events. Thank you Rogersville Girl Scout Troop!!

Troopers met Connor Wilson at Chuck E. Cheese's in Birmingham to fulfill this sick boy's wish of being Trooper for a day.

While at a crash scene on Interstate 59 in Tuscaloosa County, an Alabama State Trooper was approached by a motorist who stated his passenger was in labor and requested assistance. Upon contact with the passenger, Trooper Richard Pittman discovered the passenger was in active labor.

"Without hesitation, Trooper Pittman acted quickly coordinating directions with EMS via cell phone and assisting in the delivery of the baby," said Secretary of Law Enforcement Stan Stabler. "Trooper Pittman's commitment and dedication to the citizens of Alabama was not only illustrated by his actions today but by his actions everyday. In November of 2015, Trooper Pittman received a Governor's Commendation for helping a veteran who was suffering from PTSD. Trooper Pittman exemplifies the mission of an Alabama State Trooper, and of law enforcement as a whole -- to serve and protect."

After delivering the baby, Trooper Pittman kept the family calm and provided care until the ambulance arrived. The mother and baby were then transported to DCH Regional Medical Center in Tuscaloosa.

After clearing the crash scene, Trooper Pittman went to the hospital to check on the family and presented the parents with a Trooper teddy bear.
